What do you do at Coul Productions?

As the Sales Manager, I am the point of contact for companies interested in our events. Working together we find the right event and method of participation to allow organizations to meet their goals. From the initial conversation, to the day of the event, I make sure sponsors and exhibitors have a great experience. Interested in one of our events? Have questions that need answering? Want a friendly voice to talk to? I’m your guy.

What’s your background?  How did you get into events?

My background in events started out when I sought out a position as the Event Coordinator at my college radio station, KDUP, while attending the University of Portland. At the time, all I wanted was to make a little extra cash at what seemed like a cool job. Being a musician myself (not to mention concert lover), I knew at the very least that taking a job at the radio station would be a fun gig. What I didn’t expect was that I’d end up developing an affinity for coordinating events. I loved how I could use my marketing background and apply these concepts creatively to each event we put on. After learning what it took to put on successful shows for two years, I also learned just how good it feels when an event you planned is well received. After graduating from University of Portland, I knew I wanted to pursue working at event companies where I could use my marketing degree. I am very happy to now be with Coul Productions, where I can continue working in an industry I love alongside some great people.

What’s your favorite part of an event?

I’d be lying if I did not say that the finished product is definitely my favorite aspect of any event. There is nothing that can give me the pleasure of finally looking around at an event I have worked for months organizing. Aside from this, I genuinely enjoy being able to use my creativity on a daily basis. I have the opportunity to come up with a new strategy every day, and that does not get old. And lastly, I love getting the chance to create new relationships every day. With any sales position, you must enjoy speaking to people. However, I can honestly say at Coul Productions that I have the pleasure of helping different companies and individuals get closer to reaching their goals. It is my job to create a connection with companies that can benefit as a great fit for any of our events.

What do you do when you’re not at work?

I have always had a huge passion for playing the drums and creating music. Since picking up my first pair of sticks at eight years old, I have naturally begun to associate myself as a drummer. Now that I have the opportunity to play shows with my band, I feel blessed that I have the chance to continue playing music for people. And when I’m not playing it, I’m listening to it. Whether I am at a show, or in my room with headphones on, I always seek out new inspiration from the artists I look up to.

Other than my musical endeavors, I love to watch sports, cook and grill. I also enjoy getting outside and exploring the beautiful scenery that Portland, OR has to offer.
